Contact (jmart8888@gmail.com or 312-286-6549 for more information or to adopt the pet.Aster is young but her exact age is unknown because she was found as a stray at a local gas station in December of 2025. She obviously had some sort of trauma that healed incorrectly because her gait is very unusual, but that certainly doesn't slow her down! She walks with stiff back legs and poor balance in the back and will sometimes fall, but she can use the bathroom normally, climb the stairs and get up on the furniture, and is very happy and playful. She purrs and chirps and is just happy to follow you around as long as she is in a calm environment.Aster is afraid of dogs and children and general commotion and will hide until things quiet down. Unfortunately, this means sometimes she will use the bathroom in her hiding spot if she doesn't feel safe coming out. She would do best in a home with no dogs or small children that is relatively calm. She is currently eating a urinary diet to help prevent urinary infection that she may be more prone to due to her poor balance. She is spayed and has been vaccinated recently.

All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
