Zuma is the absolute sweetest girl who was dealt a really bad hand and is now on the hunt for her second chance at a happy ending! <br/>When Zuma was just a kitten, she thought she found her forever home when she was adopted to a seemingly nice family that promised to love & care for her. Unfortunately, last summer (8 years later), Zuma was returned to us and the condition she was in at intake was heartbreaking. Zuma was completely matted and entirely shut down. We knew when we got her back that it had been a long time since she had any proper care & we have been determined to make her feel comfortable again ever since.<br/>Zuma spent a really long time not wanting to engage with anyone. She didn't want to come out of her crate, she didn't want to be pet, she was just a shell of herself. She would sit and face the wall of her cage all day long. It broke our hearts. <br/>We are happy to say after some much needed dental work and a LOT of TLC from our staff and volunteers (including weeks of one of our special volunteers reading the tween novel Twilight to her outside of her crate), Zuma is back to her old self & ready to love again!
