Zorro's Story

Zorro – Our Gentle Angel in a Fur Coat

Age: 12 years
Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Colour: White with one blue and one green eye (heterochromia magic!)
Status: Ready for adoption

If an angel was a cat, it would be Zorro. This 12-year-old chonky gentleman has the kindest soul you’ll ever meet. With his striking mismatched eyes and soft white coat, he’s a vision of serenity and love.

Zorro adores everyone: cats, dogs, and people. He welcomes all with gentle purrs and slow blinks. He’s sensitive, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his humans. His calm presence fills any room with peace.

Zorro is also partially deaf, which just adds to his sweet, peaceful nature. He relies more on body language and affection to connect and thrives in a calm environment.

When Zorro came into care, he needed extensive dental work and a growth removed from his mouth (thankfully not cancerous). He has since recovered beautifully and is thriving.

Zorro is working on two big health goals: mobility and weight loss. He has some arthritis in his back end, which makes him a little slower to get around, but he’s on medication that keeps him comfortable and happy (currently about $180 per month, which will drop by half once he’s under 15 lbs). He has already lost over 4 lbs and is continuing his journey toward a healthier weight.

Despite his age and arthritis, Zorro still loves playtime, especially wand toys and puzzle feeders. And yes, he’s a certified Temptations connoisseur.
To set him up for success, The Big House Sanctuary will include:

• 3 months of arthritis injections at our clinic in Arnprior, covered by the rescue

• A home scale and custom weight loss plan

• A large, mobility-friendly litter box

• He is doing a few Rehabilitation sessions at Rehab Fur Your Pet and that will allow us to provide guidance on at-home mobility support

Zorro is truly something special, a lover, a couch potato, a cuddler extraordinaire, and the very definition of a gentle soul. He’s looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by affection, warmth, and good snacks.

If your heart is open to an angel in need, Zorro will fill it completely. Zorro’s adoption fee has been generously sponsored under our senior adoption program.
