Zooks's Story

Zooks is an adorable kitten who loves to chase wand toys and chirp at birds through the window, while wiggling her butt at them.

A true kitten of 2026, she also loves to watch Cat TV and cat games on a tablet. She is a bit hesitant with new people but enjoys pets while she’s eating, watching Cat TV, or during her afternoon sunbathing sessions (she’ll even allow kisses during this time). We think she would do best in a quiet home, with patient people and no small children. Despite being reserved, Zooks isn’t shy. She would love a home to explore and is very inquisitive, coming out to watch you and see what’s going on. Sometimes she will pace back and forth, huffing and puffing a little bit like a tweenager when she is annoyed by say, you not playing with her enough or, her friend, Gabby, taking her sun spot.

Zooks has tested positive for FeLV which weakens her immune system. It isn’t contagious to humans or dogs, but it can be contagious to cats, so any other cats in the house should also be FeLV positive. She loves other kitties and would do best in a home with another FeLV kitty - she'd love to meet your kitty or be adopted with her buddy Gabby! Check out Gabby's profile too.

Cats who test positive for FeLV as adults can often live an average amount of years, but since kitten’s immune systems are weaker, life expectancy normally isn’t that great. For this reason, we are looking for some angel adopters who are prepared to deal with any medical issues that could come up. Zooks doesn’t know she has this devastating disease and is really a sweet albeit standoffish at first kitten who just wants a home to explore with a sunny spot to lay in and lots of churus!

For more photos and videos of Lorax, you can check out his foster’s Instagram - Dizzellen

Please reach out if you're interested or have any questions! adoption@acatsliferescue.org
