Zipper's Story
Zipper is a sensitive boy who is still figuring out this whole “people” thing. He can be a little wary at first. You’ll often see his affectionate side shining through when he rubs up against the kennel door wanting some love. Sometimes Zipper will happily accept gentle pets and lean right in. Other times, he can get a bit overstimulated or unsure and may give a little swat to let you know he needs space. The good news? He truly tries his best — he usually keeps those claws tucked away, showing that even when he’s uncomfortable, he doesn’t want to hurt anyone. He’s just communicating the only way he knows how.

Zipper would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands cat body language and is willing to let him set the pace. With time, consistency, and respect for his boundaries, this boy has so much potential to blossom. Beneath that uncertainty is a cat who clearly wants connection — he just needs someone to help him feel safe enough to fully zip open his heart.

All cats and kittens come spayed and neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fees are $50.00 for adult cats and $75.00 for kittens under 6 months old at the time of adoption. Our adoptions are done by approved applications, so you must apply and be approved before being able to meet any of our cats or kittens.

To be approved, you can apply in person or online at:
https://www.storycountyiowa.gov/1486/Adoption-Application
Applications can take a few business days to be approved and you will be emailed with communications regarding your application.
