Zinnia's Story

Zinnia is a gentle, curious kitten and the perfect work-from-home companion. She’s already mastering classic cat traditions like supervising your day from the best nearby perch and immediately stealing your seat when you stand up. She’s happiest quietly watching her humans, popping over for quick check-ins, and rewarding you with soft chirps and gentle affection.
Zinnia was rescued after being heard crying for help in a nearby basement, and she’s been gaining confidence steadily during her time indoors. She’s grown from a cautious, wide-eyed observer into a playful, engaged kitten who seeks out treats, wand toys, and gentle petting on her own terms. She’s learning how to ask for affection, happily settling beside you to make little air biscuits when you scratch her favorite spots — and if you miss one, she’ll gently steer your hand in the right direction.

She’s still a little unsure about reaching hands and sudden movements, but will happily throw that caution aside if toys or lickable treats are involved. Zinnia has also handled necessary care with grace and easy forgiveness, including vet visits, claw trimming, and even a bath.
Zinnia can entertain herself independently for long stretches with toys, but really lights up for interactive play with wand toys. She has an expressive vocal range, from almost-silent squeaks to a surprisingly robust purr, and she’s a determined climber — cat trees and window perches would be very appreciated. She also comes running when she hears friendly feline chatter, suggesting she may enjoy the company of other cats, though she’d also be content as a solo companion with her humans.

Zinnia would thrive in a calm home that appreciates a kitten who is still growing into herself — and rewards patience with warmth, play, and companionship.

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.

Zinnia is FeLV+ and needs to be adopted as a single cat or with another feline leukemia positive companion. Cats that are FeLV+ can live normal and healthy lives when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exam, however most likely their lifespans will be much shorter than other cats.

Courtesy Post: This cat is not in the custody or care of City Critters. We are posting the cat as a courtesy for an independent rescuer and will gladly forward your inquiry.
