Ziggy & Zelda's Story

Do you want two independent gorgeous cats to become the queens of your home? If so, Ziggy and Zelda are the cats for you! Ziggy and Zelda are both female cats, they are estimated to be 1-2 years old, and they're both spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Ziggy and Zelda were living under a person's porch, eating from the food provided, and occassionally letting the person pet them. They have a history of living with a breeder prior to that and getting thrown out. Later on, they were rescued and transported to Pawsitive Alleys, where we've worked on socializing them and fostering them for the past 6 months. Both cats were anxious in the beginning, hiding under the bed and not wanting to be touched. However, slowly but surely, they've both come a long way!

Ziggy and Zelda have some similar traits such as being loyal, independent and quiet. They both are very gentle, they've never hurt us even when we've had to give them medicine during their anxious days. But they also have their differences: Ziggy is a very playful cat, she loves sitting near her person and once she's comfortable enough, she loves being petted. Zelda is less playful, but she is more curious. She likes to explore different parts of the house and loves meeting other cats. Zelda always loves to say hello to her people by raising her tail and sometimes meowing, despite not always wanting to be touched.

Both cats have been great with our other foster cats but they don't seem to like dogs. They can co-exist with dogs but don't like them coming near them so it's preferable that they go to a no-dog home. They both need a great deal of patience as they are not the most social, especially around strangers, and it's important to keep in mind that while they are constantly surprising us with their progress, there is a possibility that they will never like being carried around and meeting strangers. They also need hairball control food as they both have very long hair and get throw up hairballs if they're not on hairball food.
We currently have them as a bonded pair, but we would consider adopting them out separately to families that already have another cat as they mostly bond with other cats instead of each other. We currently have them posted as a bonded pair so that they can help each other out with the transition but if we feel that your family has the perfect setting for their transition, then we can definitely discuss adopting one of them out without the other.
