Hi, I’m Ziggy. I was born in 2015 and full of class with a bit of sass. I used to be shy but now you’ll find that I’m a charmer. I greet people entering my room with a warm hello. In fact, I consider myself to be the welcoming committee and tour guide of my room. I always accept tips in form of pets. Come visit me - I’ll show you around my room and just maybe walk right into your heart! Just don’t pick me up, I don’t like how it ruffles my fur! My favorite hobby is splashing in water bowls.

Helen Krause Organization (HOKAFI)'s Adoption Policy

We are not a same day adoption facility because we believe in matching pets with the perfect homes and vice versa! We treat each adoption as a case by case basis as each animal we care for is unique in their own way. We like potential pet parents to apply in person after meeting their desired new friend. We do not have application fees but we do have adoption fees that are determined by a pet's age. We do home visits with dog adoptions to help your new friend settle in. Please feel free to call us to make an appointment or come to our open adoption hours to meet our furry friends in need of homes. Visit us Saturdays 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.

Our Mission

We are a no-kill non-profit animal shelter helping abandoned, abused and stray animals find homes or sanctuary. Our founder Helen Opperman Krause was an animal rescuer and hero to all animals big or small. Her dream lives on through the foundation she started.
