Zenway's Story

***Zenway has had an uphill climb from the time he was rescued to his present state of good health. Now that his brother Zenith has found a great home and his own human laps to cuddle up in, Zen will need a friendly cat or two in his forever home to bond with and support his continuing integration. He is familiar with his foster mates and enjoys their company very much. Merlin the wizard-in-training is a great choice!

Zen is a special boy and will win the heart of his future humans as he has his foster mom. That said, he is not a starter cat. He had a rough start on his indoor life, eventually being diagnosed with dry FIP. Once he started on his treatment protocol he became a playful, delightful little dude. Then as his recovery continued he turned into a not-so-little dude! He loves to play on his own, chirping happily to himself and his toys, especially pompoms or small balls, but he’s recently been able to interact with kittens close to his own age which has been great fun for him.

Zenway was successfully treated for FIP and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Although he is still hissy and skittish if humans approach him, he sleeps on his foster mom’s feet and prefers to be in the same room as her as much as possible. It is clear he wants to get closer, but just can’t quite get over the final fear hurdle with her. He is treat-motivated and with patience, we hope that like his brother before him, he will become a lap cat for the right adopter.

Would you like to make Zenway a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
