Meet Zenon, our extraordinary momma cat that saved the lives of not just one, but two abandoned kittens this year! Having been brought to our shelter as a nursing mom with her own litter of 5 kittens, she had just finished weaning her own babies when a tiny abandoned kitten arrived at our Marathon Campus. <br/>When a nursing mother cat is available, a kitten’s best chance at survival is to be raised by her, if she’s willing to accept them. Thankfully, Zenon was more than willing. She took in the first orphaned kitten without hesitation, caring for the baby as if it were her own.<br/><br/>Just a week later, another abandoned kitten in need of a mom was brought to our Marathon Campus. This one was close in age and size to Zenon’s first adopted baby, and once again, Zenon’s maternal instincts kicked in. She welcomed the new arrival into her little family without missing a beat.<br/>Now that she's been spayed and her babies have since been adopted, shes ready to find her forever home!
