Zelda is a beautiful 3 year old tuxedo cat with a story that will tug at your heart. In mid-August, Zelda was brought to ARF by a local grassroots rescue after being found living outdoors in a trailer park. She wasn't just trying to survive for herself. She was heavily pregnant while already caring for a litter of kittens estimated to be three to five months old.<br/><br/>Think about that for a moment. Zelda was still raising babies while another litter was on the way, all while trying to find enough food, shelter, and safety outdoors. <br/><br/>Thankfully, this devoted mama and her kittens were safely secured and brought into rescue. Zelda was spayed before coming to ARF and we've made sure she's also vaccinated and microchipped.<br/><br/>Now, after spending so much of her life worrying about survival and her babies, Zelda deserves something completely different:<br/> A soft bed.<br/> Regular meals.<br/> A warm, safe home.<br/> Someone to spoil her.<br/> Absolutely no more worrying about where her next meal will come from or how she'll protect her babies.<br/><br/>And the best part? Zelda is friendly! <br/><br/>At three years old, Zelda is also well beyond the kitten phase, which means she has so much to offer without all the kitten chaos.<br/><br/>There are some wonderful advantages to adopting a cat her age:<br/> Her personality is already emerging. You have a much better idea of who Zelda is and what makes her happy.<br/> She's past the baby stage. No midnight kitten zoomies, constant supervision, or kitten-proofing every inch of your home.<br/> She's ready for companionship. Zelda has spent enough time caring for everyone else. Now she can focus on being someone's beloved companion.<br/> She can settle into a home beautifully. Adult cats often appreciate the comfort and predictability of a safe home.<br/> She'll still play and have plenty of personality, but she can also appreciate the finer things in life like naps, sunny windows, cozy blankets, and being pampered.<br/> You're giving an overlooked adult cat a second chance. And Zelda has certainly earned hers.<br/>Zelda spent her early years doing what she had to do to survive and being a mama when she should have been able to simply be a cat.<br/><br/>She doesn't need to fend for herself anymore.
