You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application. If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application.

If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.

Meet Zeke! Update (9/16/25) from Zeke's foster family:'Zeke is one of the cuddliest kitties I've ever met! He definitely wears his heart on his sleeve and will often throw himself down either on my lap or whatever surface he is on when he's tired and promptly fall asleep, purring away the whole time. He will take as many pets and chin rubs and back scratches as you can give him (the more the merrier!), as he's such an affectionate kitty and would spend all day staring into your eyes if he could. Zeke is the definition of 'Where are you going because I'm going to beat you there!' and is usually right at my feet wanting to know where we're headed (he's hoping the kitchen for treats). He's very food motivated and loves any treats I give him with seemingly no preference (except of course for the occasional churu which he goes CRAZY for). He's also a star soccer player and loves to entertain himself with any of the little balls that he bats around my apartment until they inevitably end up 'out of bounds' at which point I have to help recover them so the game can continue. While he was a bit timid at first and spent the first few days hiding/acclimating to the new space, he's an extremely charismatic kitten who wants nothing more than a person to be his best friend and give him all the love his huge heart desires and deserves. He's completely potty trained and has had no accidents, and as long as you give him some time to feel comfortable in a new space or with a new person, he'll warm up quickly and be your best friend and partner in crime. Once you're in with Zeke, you're in for life!'Original Rescue Story:Zeke is brother to Leeluu and Gypsy. Both girls have been adopted. Zeke was rescued mid May from the streets of Tijuana. He had stayed at casa de ARWOB for almost 4 months living with his siblings and other fellow kittens. He is good friends with Clay, Vincent and Madison, all 3 are not his siblings but they ARE foster siblings for months. Zeke grow up around many dogs and cats. He is a total ham love bug and a HUGE scardy cat, if poeople come to their home expect he will 'run away' and hide. He is a HUGE believer in 'stranger danger!' but he loves his humans and is a bit like a dog, he loves to play soccer and walk around with a toy in his mouth. As of 9/6 he is now in a new foster home where he is with Madison his foster sister. Depending on the applicant siutation we may consider adopting him into a home on his own but ideally he will be adopted in a home with another cat or dog friend. All kittens have been tested and felv/fiv negative. To meet and possibly adopt one or two of these cuties please submit an application online at ARWOB.org once received we will contact you to schedule a call to finish processing your application. If approved we can move fwd with scheduling a meet and greet and adoptions can happen same day of the meets. Animal Rescuers Without Borders,Inc.'s Adoption Policy
The A.R.W.O.B. group prides itself on carefully placing animals into responsible and loving homes. We care about the present and future lives of the many unwanted dogs and cats and strive to improve them so they can come to know stability, love and safety. For more information, please visit our website at www.arwob.org. Our adoption procedure is as follows: 1) Adoption Application filed by applicant (visit the applications page to fill one out!). We typically adopt dogs and cats to individuals or families located in San Diego County, Orange County and Los Angeles areas. However, we may consider potential adopters within California, Arizona, and Nevada (within a reasonable driving distance) under certain circumstances. We require that the application be approved ahead of time and a home check must be done via FaceTime Skype (we do not accept videos for this purpose). We would also require the potential adopter to come to San Diego to meet the animal in person and we recommend bringing any current pet(s) to see if they will get along. If the potential adopter opts out of the meet-n-greet with their existing animal(s) and if the new pet does not get along with their existing pets, we would require the adopter to drive back to San Diego to return the animal -- we cannot provide transportation. Our adoptions are time sensitive and our policy is that we do not place holds on any of our rescues. PLEASE NOTE: We have implemented a new policy for those who are currently serving in the military. IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY please fill out a short questionnaire in addition to the adoption application. 2) A play date between the applicant and rescue (dog or cat). An applicant MUST have an APPROVED online adoption application filed BEFORE scheduling a playdate at the animal's foster home. The playdate will ensure that the potential adopter and the dog/ cat they are interested in is the right match. If the dog/cat does not possess the qualities and behavioral traits the applicant is looking for, we can continue the adoption process by meeting another rescued dog or cat. You can also meet the animal you are interested in at scheduled adoption events. Approved applicants have priority to meet an animal over others. Please read the events page for more information about meeting an animal at an event and possibly taking them home afterward. 3) Home checks to ensure the safety of our rescues (If applicable). An ARWOB volunteer will contact you upon approval of your application (and the playdate appointment) to schedule a visit to your home. Here we will take a look at where the cat/dog will be living. Your home and yard must be safe and secure. 4) Adoption Contract and ID from applicant If everything checks out during the homecheck and we believe our rescued dog/ cat will live happily there, we will go ahead and sign the adoption contract to makes the adoption official. 5) Adoption fee Fees are different for both dogs and cats and are based on age and, sometimes, on the breed. Please visit the adoption fees page for a break down of all. 6) Denial of adoption applications We screen all of our adoption applications thoroughly in order to find the perfect home for our rescues. There may be times when we feel the adopter is not a good fit based on the answer to questions on their application. Please know that we vet each applicant with the animal's best interest in mind. In the event that your application is denied, you will receive an email letting you know of our decision. However, we will not be able to answer detailed questions regarding the denial.
