After being adopted, he was surrendered to a shelter in San Diego less than six months later. Unfortunately, we don't know exactly what happened during that time, but when Zane made his way back to us, he was no longer the carefree, outgoing kitten we once knew. He came back scared, unsure, and clearly carrying the weight of experiences no cat should have to endure.<br/><br/>Because of this, Zane is looking for a special adoptersomeone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him move at his own pace. He needs a home where he can feel safe, secure, and loved while he learns that not all humans will let him down. Beneath his cautious exterior is an incredibly sweet boy who wants nothing more than to believe in people again.<br/><br/>Once Zane feels comfortable, his wonderful personality begins to shine. He loves toys, enjoys exploring boxes, and still has a playful side that comes out when he feels safe. Churu treats are the quickest way to win his heart, and he never misses the sound of a package being opened. He also enjoys the company of other cats and would likely thrive in a home with a friendly feline companion who can help show him the ropes and build his confidence.<br/><br/>Zane may not be the cat who immediately runs into your arms on day one, but for the person willing to give him patience, understanding, and unconditional love, the reward will be immeasurable. Watching a cat learn to trust again is one of the most beautiful experiences, and Zane deserves that chance.<br/><br/>He is litter box trained and has been around children, cats, large dogs, and small dogs. While he may need time to adjust to a new environment, he has experience living with a variety of companions. He would be happiest in a home with another friendly cat or adopted alongside a feline buddy.<br/><br/>Zane is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, and up to date on all vaccinations.
