Yukon's Story

Meet YUKON, a sweet, handsome black junior. When Yukon first arrived at the shelter, he was very shy. With time, patience, and plenty of gentle encouragement from staff and volunteers, Yukon has made an incredible 180º transformation. Today, he’s a total love bug. Yukon happily leans in for pets, enjoys sitting beside his favorite humans, and is even discovering that laps can be pretty wonderful places to relax. His absolute favorite thing in the world is creamy “treats in a tube,” which have played a big role in helping him build trust and confidence. He also has a playful side and loves chasing a toy on a cat wand. Now that his momma and siblings have all been adopted—and Yukon has blossomed into the happy, friendly boy we always knew he could be—he’s ready for a place to call his own. His new family should be patient and willing to give him consistent love and attention, understanding that he may need a little time to feel comfortable in a new environment and so he will continue to thrive. Since Yukon is already neutered, he can go home with you right away.

Please use YUKON’s intake number (A059232) when making inquiries at the shelter.

All cats available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter are up-to-date on their routine vaccinations will be microchipped.
