Ysabell's Story

Have you heard of "tortie-tude," the widely rumored phenomenon that tortoiseshell cats are opinionated, stubborn, or full of sass? Ysabell would like to set the record straight. She is not sassy. She is not difficult. She is a perfectly loving, perfectly goofy, perfectly delightful kitten who simply knows what she likes. That isn't tortie-tude. That's confidence.

Ysabell appreciates being able to set the pace when it comes to affection, and once she decides you're one of her people, you're in for a treat. Let her come to you and she will simply never leave your lap or arms. She adores being petting and gives the most gentle kisses. To everyone. Humans, foster siblings, anyone who earns the privilege of her presence. She is a world-class cuddler, and the right family will adore her for exactly who she is.

When Ysabell is not gracing you with kisses, she is almost certainly scaling something. She is an explorer of the first order: a climber, an adventurer, a kitten who looks at vertical space and sees possibility. The world is her jungle gym and she intends to use every inch of it. Like her foster siblings, Mort and Albert, she also believes the definition of "cat toy" should be interpreted generously. Bottle caps, hair ties, ribbons... if it exists and can be batted across the floor, it's probably worth investigating.

Ysabell has also met her foster family's dog. She's gathered the evidence and is still reviewing her findings. Her official position is that she's considering liking dogs. This is not a rejection; it's simply a pending decision. With a calm, cat-savvy dog and the kind of gentle, pressure-free introductions she prefers, there's every reason to believe she could become a canine fan.

Ysabell has spent her foster life alongside her brothers, Albert and Mort. She's the confident big-hearted sister who encourages Mort's bravery and happily keeps pace with Albert's playful adventures. She would thrive in a home with another friendly feline, whether that's a gentle resident cat or, even better, one (or both!) of her beloved foster siblings. Be sure to check out their profiles too!

If you've read this far and found yourself smiling, there's a good chance Ysabell has already chosen you she just hasn't met you yet. Reach out and change that!

If you would like to meet this cutie or have any questions: Adoption@acatsliferescue.org
