Xena's Story

Xena has a special story, making her way in life, not receiving the care and understanding she needed.

She originally belonged to a family with a busy home with children. She was not spayed by the family. She was allowed to go in and out of the house (despite the dangers of outdoor life).

Of course, she turned up pregnant and birthed her 4 kittens in the home. When the kittens were 4 weeks old, the family ejected her and 3 of her babies onto the lawn in the middle of summer with no protection, because the babies were still learning to use the litter box, and they didn't want to tolerate this phase.

Xena and kittens were fostered together until the kittens were old enough to get spayed and neutered and have all found homes. Mama Xena is also scheduled to be spayed. It is now her turn to find a home that will love her unconditionally. We think she's had a hard life, and enjoys the comforts of being in a home receiving love and companionship from people. She shows no interest in returning to a life of running around outside.

Xena is a delightful, curious, calm, and affectionate cat. Unless there are over-riding constraints or requirements, e.g., one of a bonded pair, we always give priority to the order in which we receive a completed application (first qualified, first served).

ForeverMeow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit cat rescue, registered with the California State Attorney General. Since 2012, we have rescued over 2,000 cats and kittens.

12/14/25 2:20 PM
