Xander's Story

Xander arrived at our shelter as a frightened stray, bearing a wound on his neck that the vet said was self-inflicted due to a large ear polyp causing discomfort in his right ear. Due to the polyp shredding upon attempted removal, he is scheduled to have his entire ear canal removed (TECA) on 11/25. His first experience here was a tough one - he went straight to the vet, which made everything even scarier for him. At first, he kept his distance and wasn't sure about people, but he has definitely come out of his shell in foster! He is very curious and has even started exploring the house outside of his room recently. He loves getting attention and will paw at you for more pets if you stop, and he will let you carry him around as much as you want once he trusts you. He also loves playing with toys - especially the ones with bells in them so that he can hear them. He is completely deaf in his right ear, but he does have some hearing in his left.

Xander LOVES other cats and would do amazing in a calm home with other kitty friends (he doesn't mind dogs but would love to have a feline sibling). He has a huge personality and would love a forever family to share it with!
