Meet Working Cats

These cats are also known as Barn Cats or Feral Cats. What is a feral cat? Feral cats are the offspring of lost or abandoned pet cats, or the offspring of other feral cats. Feral cats are not accustomed to contact with people as most of them have been raised with little to no contact with humans. For some people they are a nuisance and many are trapped and taken to local humane societies, like ours. Some may come around and become friendly, many of them will not. So what happens with these feral cats when they enter shelters? Most of them are killed. Our shelter believes that cats like these deserve to live as they are a product of our own human irresponsibility.

Last year, we were able to find homes for 100% of our un-socialized cats, but we need your help! They are spayed or neutered and vaccinated against rabies. There is no adoption fee, but if you'd like to make a donation, it would be greatly appreciated.

All homes interested in "adopting" one of our Working Cats, must agree to provide food, water, protection from the elements and long-term veterinary care. Barns, horse stables, warehouses and country homes with lots of land often make excellent homes for these cats. .
