Wizard's Story

Wizard has been adopted and returned to the rescue twice. The first time, he was adopted as a kitten and everything was fine for 2 years, until he started not using the litter box out of the blue. Then, he got adopted again, but only lasted for about 3 weeks before he was returned for the same reason. He was taken to the vet to look for a medical reason, but the vet determined it was behavioral. He is deaf and gets startled easily if he doesn't see you. I think he needs a quiet home with either no other cats, or maybe one sweet, easy going cat. He is fine with dogs, but not a hyper dog. My dog is a lab mix who is 13, so she minds her own business and doesn't bother the cats. Wizard has been crated at night at my house. During the day, I put him in my bedroom by himself so he has room to roam around. I haven't noticed any accidents outside the litter box. Recently, Snow (another one of my fosters who is on Petfinder here) was returned for the same reason. I have had her in my bedroom with Wizard for the past couple of days, and they seem to get along fine. She is a senior cat who can't hear very well, so they don't bother each other.
Wizard is a sweet, shy boy. He can be playful, too. He needs a home with not a lot of activity. I try not to startle him when I come in the room and he doesn't see me.
It will take him a little time to trust you. You have to let him come to you and ask for pets. I think if he gets stressed, it causes him to stop using the litter box, so a calm, quiet, low activity house would be best for him. He deserves a loving family of his own. He has lots of love to give.
