WISHBONE's Story
Wishbone – Soft-Spoken, Sweet, and Full of Heart
Born: Late spring 2020
Arrived: May 2024

Wishbone is truly a special little cat whose personality continues to gently unfold with time and trust. Quiet and reserved at first, he blossoms once he feels safe—especially when belly rubs are involved. When that happens, the purring starts, and he’ll rub his face all over your hands in his own tender way of saying, “I’m happy here.”

He gets along well with the other cats and would be comfortable living with one or two feline companions. Wishbone will need a caring, compassionate home that understands he’s a bit shy when meeting new people and is willing to give him the time and patience he needs to build confidence.

While not the most outgoing social butterfly, Wishbone turns to absolute putty once he’s in your lap or receiving those coveted belly rubs. He’s still a little timid, but he’s making steady progress. Lately, he’s been spending time with Rhys, and we suspect he may be missing his buddy Lord Farquaad (RIP). Marnie’s calm and patient presence has also been a huge help in easing his shyness.

Interestingly, in a previous home where he lived for about a year with another FeLV-positive kitty, Wishbone was considered a bit of a bully. Knowing him now, we suspect he simply wanted to play while his companion—who was smaller and less sturdy—wasn’t interested. Here, he gets along famously with everyone, often choosing to chum around with the boys. When placing him in a future home, we’ll keep size and play style in mind to ensure a good match.

Wishbone has come such a long way from the sickly little guy we took in back in May of 2024. Born in late spring of 2020, he truly lived up to his name at intake—little more than a rack of bones. And now? Just look at him.

Wishbone is eligible for our Forever Foster-A-FeLeuk-Kitty Program.
Email us for more information and to learn how you can be part of his happy ending. 🐾💙
