Winnie's Story

I'm a quiet 5.5 yr old spayed female who was found abandoned with my brother, Spookster. I was thrown outside with my siblings during a heat wave when my family moved away, leaving us to figure out life outdoors for the first time in our lives. I was so heartbroken, scared and confused. I had no idea how to take care of myself or find food, so I decided to skip a few of my nine lives and start giving up. Luckily, I was found just in time and brought to this amazing sanctuary. I had no intention of living after all that stress and anxiety I experienced, but the kind humans here showed me how to live again. I was reunited with my brother and was so relieved when I realized he survived along with me! He gave me hope and was by my side during all our rehab. I relearned how to eat and gained weight (maybe a little too much!) and was shown how to trust again. I cannot function without my brother and the humans have promised me that we will never be separated...phew! We have lots of kitty friends but I'm not sure about dogs or hyper, loud children. I need a calm home, full of love and understanding since my anxiety and flashbacks can creep up easily when I feel unsafe. I'd really like a second chance at home life with my brother!
