Winky's Story
Winky (orange & white tabby, M, 1 year old) is a special little dude! He is a master at cuddles and will plop himself down right across his foster mom's lap for pets and love. A virus as a baby gave him an upper respiratory infection that closed his left eye, leaving him with a sweet little wink! He does have frequent sneezes and sometimes needs his nose/eyes wiped clean with a wet cotton ball.

Winky was born with a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia that gives him a cute little wobble. This is not a progressive condition and it will not worsen with age. CH is not contagious. Cats with CH can live a long and healthy life. It does make him work harder at getting places and he often tips over. He does not climb very much (except an occasional low couch in pursuit of his foster mom) and avoids stairs.

Winky is an independent guy and is able to use his high sided litter box well with minimal mess. Once in a while, he does tip over in the box and might need a little help cleaning up himself. But he does work hard to get himself and his "deposits" in the litterbox. He has a good appetite and loves his kibble and wet food and fresh, clean water.

Born in a foster home, he was in a litter of five siblings and his sister Sage is his bestie. Ideally they would be adopted together (check out the cute photo in this listing of them cuddling) but he can be adopted by himself if by a family that is home a lot and able to give him lots of attention.

Interested in meeting Winky? All our cats are in foster homes as we do not have a facility where people can come and meet the cats at any time. The first step is to complete our online application at the link below. Once we have an approved application we can set up an appointment for you to meet her. Please copy/paste the link below into a browser window to get started.
https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/cat-adoption-application

Clicking the "Start your Inquiry" button is internal to Petfinder, and will only delay the process - please copy the link above to our application to start the process.

The adoption fee of $140 includes spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/ required vaccinations and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new cat for your family.

Although we make the best guess on the breed of our cats, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the cat. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED!

Thank you for wanting to adopt a Starfish Animal Rescue cat!
