Winkie 's Story
* Must be adopted into a home with a young and playful cat*

Winkie is a special boy who had a tough start in life and has come such a long way. He was seen being dumped by his owners at a very young age and was in desperate need of food and medical attention. Without access to care, he developed feline herpes, which left him with his cloudy pirate eye. Thankfully, once BCC got him the medicine he needed, he improved greatly.

Because of his rough beginning, Winkie is understandably shy at first. He will need a patient owner who understands that trust takes time, love, and reassurance. He is extremely cat friendly and would truly thrive with a confident feline friend to help him adjust.

From a little gray boy who once hid in his blankie or behind the toilet, Winkie has blossomed. He now plays with his foster’s cats, lounges in cat hammocks, and loves wand toys. His foster can even pet his belly, and he will occasionally sleep in bed.

Winkie is very food motivated and will sometimes seek attention when he is hungry. He is not afraid to meow about it either. A felt string wand toy is the perfect way to coax him out, and once he feels safe, he becomes wonderfully acrobatic. He loves to leap and jump for toys, zoom back and forth, and wrestle with his foster mom’s seven month old boy.

Winkie would do best in a quiet home with a cat friendly companion and patient adopters who are willing to let him blossom at his own pace.

For more pictures and videos of Winkie’s journey, visit @redshoegirlfostering on Instagram.

If you are interested in adopting please visit the link below to fill out our adoption application via Shelterluv.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BCC/Cat

You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from us.

BCC does not have a shelter or storefront.
