Winkie's Story
Winkie is a special boy who had a tough start in life and has come a long way! He was seen being dumped by his owners at a very young age and was in desperate need of food and medical attention. Without access to medical care Winkie suffered from feline herpes which gave him his cloudy pirate eye but greatly improved after BCC was able to get him the medicine he needed.

Since he had a rough start, Winkie is understandably very shy at first and will need a patient owner who understands it will take time, love and reassurance before Winkie becomes comfortable enough to explore his new environment and will stick with him through his transition. He is extremely cat friendly and would thrive with a friendly pal that will help him adjust. From a little grey boy who hid in his blankie and behind the toilet Winkie has graduated to playing with his fosters cats, hanging out in the cat hammocks and loves to play with wand toys! His foster has even been able to pet his belly and he will occasionally sleep in the bed too especially when he is trying to tell you its time for breakfast.

Winkie is quite food motivated and will occasionally even seek attention when he is hungry despite being shy. He is not afraid to meow for it either and can sometimes have a lot to say. He can be coaxed out of his hiding spots with a felt string or feather wand toy or too. Once he feels more comfortable Winkie loves to leap and jump for toys and can be very acrobatic. He enjoys running back and forth and will wrestle with his foster moms 1 year old boy cat too. Winkie loves running, hiding and sleeping in cat tunnels. While he likes to play with his foster moms cats he can also entertain himself for a long time with spring toys and the cat tunnel.

Winkie would thrive in a quiet home, ideally with a cat friendly cat who will play with him with patient owners who understand it will take him time to adjust and work with him to get him comfortable and confident in his new forever home.

For more pictures and videos of Winkies journey visit @redshoegirlfostering on Instagram

If you are interested in adopting please visit the link below to fill out our adoption application via Shelterluv.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BCC/Cat

You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from us.

BCC does not have a shelter or storefront.
