Wink's Story
Nell and Wink were rescued from deplorable conditions in a depressed area of New Haven. They were half-starved and two of their littermates were found dead. Wink's right eye was very swollen and infected, and as a result, she has lost vision in that eye. Her eye does not have to be removed as of yet, but Wink may need surgery when she is older to remove the eye if it presents a problem. Nell experienced a herpes flareup in her left eye which resulted in special drops to her eyes. GNHCP is not sure if these kittens will ever need special medical attention for their eyes, but we are sharing this information so that we can ensure Nell and Wink are placed in the appropriate home. They are 3 months old, full of energy and affection, and love to play with humans and one another. They are in no way "disabled" in the physical sense as they jump, using the cat tree furniture, and romp like kittens do. These sisters are all black, and have come a long way since they were rescued. If you would like to meet Nell and Wink, or any of our other adoptable cats, give us a call at 782-CATS (782-2287).
