Wills just came back from a two-year undercover assignment infiltrating a feral cat colony. He hasn’t given us his report yet, but he is clearly ready to come in off the street and bask in the luxuries of life on the inside. His favorite luxury, by far, is human attention. Like most secret agents, he hasn’t told us much about his past, but there is no doubt in our minds that some time in his past he was loved by his person or people very much and he adored them. When we walk by his room, he cries and cries for us to come in. When we enter, he makes circle 8’s around our shins and he LOVES to be petted. Treats? Not now, he says, more attention please. Come visit him and he will regale you with stories from his C (as in cat) IA days, as long as you keep petting him.
