Willow's Story
Meet Willow — Adoption Fee by Donation

Willow’s story is unlike any other. She came to us after a partner organization deemed her chances of adoption too low. She was shy, withdrawn, and so quiet that she often disappeared into the shadows of whatever room she was in. Adopted once, she spent 9 months in a home before being returned — simply for being “too shy.”

But Willow’s story almost ended before it truly began. Before coming to us, she had already been sedated for euthanasia. Fate intervened, and she was spared. That’s why we call her our ghost cat — she nearly became one, and even now she moves like a whisper, hiding behind couches, furniture, and shadows. You might catch a flicker of movement from the corner of your eye, only for her to vanish again, like she was never there at all.

Willow isn’t the cuddly, outgoing cat that most adopters are searching for. She’s hesitant, stiff when touched, and slow to trust. But she is alive, and that alone is a gift — one she deserves to share with someone who sees her worth.

We’ve been unable to fully test her with other cats yet, but we hope the gentle guidance of a friendly feline companion could give her comfort and help show her the ropes of human affection. We do not think she would enjoy living with dogs at this stage — they may simply be too overwhelming for her.

We know Willow’s person is out there: someone with a quiet home, extraordinary patience, and a heart big enough to welcome a fragile soul who just needs time. Someone who will wait for the day Willow chooses to step out of the shadows and accept love, even if it takes weeks or months.

Willow’s here, waiting for her person to help her warm back up to this cold world. Could that person be you?

LOCATION: Cluny, AB
