Willow's Story

Update March 1st, 2026 - Willow is at the Pet Valu, 3505 Upper Middle at Walker's Line in Burlington. Go pay this cutie a visit. She will be a little shy at first in yet a new environment - The staff says she is opening up, loves belly rubs and drools when she is happy. She is starting to enjoy looking out the window to see the world passing by.
Please read Willow's bio, requirements for adoption and if you think she would be a good fit then go to avacats.org and fill out an online application form. An adoption co ordinator will be in touch.
Willow was adopted last October and was doing well in her new home - she had taken time to adjust but was now sleeping with her new mom, playing etc. Unfortunately circumstances changed and she was surrendered back to us in January. She has been at her foster home adjusting yet again to a new surroundings - she hid for the first couple of weeks under the bed etc but once she realized she was safe she is out and about, sitting on her foster mom's lap, playing with the toys - especially at night, will sleep on the bed, She still spooks with sudden noises and movement. She has been flea treated, dewormed twice, received her FVCRP and rabies vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. We are looking for someone with patience to give her the time to settle and get used to more changes. It is best that she start out in a safe room with toys, litter, food etc til she is ready to explore. She was not a fan of her foster mom's other cats - she was jealous when they got attention. We think she would be best as the only cat - Queen Diva . She is a tortie. Lol. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy. She loves to play, zoom around the house and look out the window at the birds.
