Willow's Story
Meet Willow.

Willow is a beautiful flame point domestic shorthair who has been in our care since she was just five weeks old. But her story is so much more than her beautiful coloring and sweet face.

When Willow first came to us, she was an incredibly sick little kitten. In fact, she was so sick that we weren't sure she was going to pull through. But Willow had other plans. Our tiny warrior fought through the odds, and she's still here today because she refused to give up.

Her journey, however, hasn't been without its challenges.

Willow has struggled with intermittent diarrhea throughout her life. After extensive time in foster care, food management, and medical intervention, we have found a regimen that is currently keeping her symptoms controlled. Willow is presently maintained on prescription Budesonide and a carefully managed diet.

She has remained in foster care throughout this process intentionally.

We wanted to take the time to understand Willow, figure out what works for her, and make sure that when the time came to find her forever family, we could be honest about what caring for her may look like.

We also didn't want Willow's beauty to overshadow her needs.

Because the truth is, Willow is absolutely gorgeous. Her flame-point coloring, blue eyes, and sweet personality could easily make her the kind of cat someone falls head over heels for the moment they see her.

But Willow needs more than someone who falls in love with her appearance.

She needs someone who sees past the desirable color and traits and understands that this little warrior may require lifelong medical management for chronic intermittent diarrhea. The underlying cause has not been definitively established and could potentially be related to inflammatory bowel disease or another inflammatory process.

Her current regimen is working, and that is wonderful news. But an adopter needs to understand that there may be times when Willow requires additional veterinary attention or medical intervention if her symptoms become uncontrolled.

This is not a warning meant to scare someone away from Willow.

It's a promise that we will be completely transparent about her care because she deserves an adopter who is prepared to love all of her--not just the easy parts.

Willow isn't just a pretty face.
She's the tiny kitten who fought like hell to survive.

She's the girl who has spent her entire life with her foster family patiently figuring out what makes her feel her best.

She's sweet, beautiful, resilient, and incredibly deserving of a forever home.

We're looking for someone who understands that adopting Willow means committing to her medical needs for the rest of her life, whatever those needs may look like.

Someone who won't simply see a gorgeous flame point and say, "I want her."

Someone who will say, "I see her. I understand her. And I'm willing to love and care for all of her."

That's the person Willow has been waiting for.
