Westley's Story
Meet the Princess Bride kittens! Fezzik (gray tabby/white female), Westley (gray tabby/white male), Buttercup (brown tabby male) and Montoya (black/white female) were born around Oct. 1. Their very resourceful mama, who is extremely sweet and is obviously an abandoned pet, made her way into the second story of a vacant Baltimore City rowhouse through a missing upstairs window, so despite being homeless this quartet grew up safe, dry and (mostly) warm.

They were rescued when they were around 8 weeks old, so are still learning about people and housecat life. They are a little bit shy to start, but have been making HUGE strides in their socialization and will continue to get braver as they have more fun experiences with people.

Westley is an adventurous little guy and was actually the first kitten to be rescued because he either fell or jumped out of the window of the vacant house and got rescued from the yard below! He's very cuddly and an excellent nap buddy. He and Montoya are the two most outgoing kittens and would do great adopted as a pair! Kittens this age really do best with friends so preference will be given to homes with another young, playful cat or who adopt kittens in pairs. (Find the listings for all four kittens by clicking on the purple button near the bottom of the page for Walter Rescue's profile page.)

The kittens will be available through a foster-to-adopt arrangement since their spay/neuter appointments aren't until February 9, which means they can go to their new homes as fosters and their adoptions will be final once they are fixed. They've had their first distemper vaccination and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

They would do best with adopters with some previous cat experience who are willing to continue working on their socialization. (We can provide plenty of guidance!) While they likely aren't a good match for homes with young children, older kids (maybe middle school and up) who understand how to be slow and gentle with animals would likely be OK.

The kittens are in a foster home in the Remington neighborhood of Baltimore City. They are not part of Walter Rescue but are being listed here as a courtesy; email eharty@gmail.com with any questions or to get an adoption application.
