Wendy's Story

Meet Wendy: a little black shadow with a huge, loving heart.

Wendy is an approximately 2-year-old all-black beauty who has already been through more than her fair share. She was found as a stray with a collar cruelly wrapped around her neck and stuck under her arm, a quiet reminder that her past wasn’t always kind. But somehow, Wendy chose love anyway.

This sweet girl is pure affection. She’s always purring, always leaning in for pets, and always ready to play. Wendy loves toys, gentle attention, and being near her people—content just to exist beside you and soak up love. Despite everything she’s endured, she greets the world with trust and a soft, steady rumble of happiness.

Wendy gets along well with other cats and would likely tolerate dogs with a proper, slow introduction. She would do best in a home with older children who can appreciate her gentle, loving nature and give her the respect she deserves.

Black cats are often overlooked—but Wendy is the kind of cat who changes hearts forever. She’s not just looking for a home; she’s looking for someone to finally choose her, to show her that she’s safe, wanted, and home for good.

Come meet Wendy at the PetSmart Adoption Center in Cherry Hill, NJ. One look into her soulful eyes, one feel of that constant purr, and you just might realize she’s been waiting for you all along.
