Wendell's Story
Hi there, I'm Wendell! I was born approximately 6/02/2017 and I'm a handsome short haired brown tabby gentleman. I was adopted once before and through no fault of my own, I found myself back outside as a stray. When I was brought to HSPPR, I had a wound near my right shoulder, but I'm happy to say it has healed up beautifully and I'm feeling much better now.
I'm a very sweet and friendly boy, although I can be a bit shy and unsure when we first meet. I just need a little patience. Once I'm comfortable and you start petting me, I come right out of my shell. I'll purr and purr and lean into your hand for more. My absolute favorite things are elevated rump scratches and chin rubs. When I'm really happy, I'll even make some biscuits!
I'm still learning to fully trust humans again, so I only tolerate being held for short periods right now, but I'm making progress every day. I've even started to enjoy some lap time, which feels like a big step for me. With a calm, loving person, I know I'll continue to blossom.
I would thrive in a quiet home where I am given the time to settle in at my own pace. I'd do well with understanding adults or older, respectful kids who can give me what I need. Also, I'd consider another friendly cat, or even a gentle doggie buddy, as long as you follow Wild Blue's introduction procedures. I'm looking for someone who will give me patience, kindness, and a soft place to land. If you're looking for a gentle soul who will reward your love with purrs, head leans, and growing trust, I might just be your guy! To start, please fill out an adoption application at www.wbcats.org/adopt and let's meet!
