Wayfarer's Story
Wayfarer is a sweet girl around 1 year old, who is adjusting well to her new foster home, where she arrived in early February 2026 from another great foster home. She was very shy at first, but just a week later she started coming to her current foster mom to be petted (see VIDEO). Good with cats: She is good with the other cats she was rescued with, such as Clowder, and with the other cats in the foster room too, though she did need a few days to acclimate to a recent new arrival. She rubs up against the other cats and “head butts” them, which is a sign of affection and friendship, though she also likes to swat them sometimes. She likes to nap with other cats.
Sisters: She and Clowder are not bonded, but get along great if you’re looking for a pair. They can also be adopted individually. They might even be sisters. They look a lot alike, except Wayfarer has more white on her and has darker markings than Clowder.
Personality: Once Wayfarer warms up to you, she is very affectionate, rubbing against her foster mom’s legs to be petted. She is timid and would do best in a home with a person or family who is understanding of her nature and will be patient as she adjusts. She is very skittish when picked up and quickly gets down. We are working on that. She is not a 'lap cat' (yet?), but has started climbing into her foster mom’s lap to be petted. She also climbed up to rest on her foster mom's feet.
She LOVES active play with her favorite wand toys and really gets excited. It’s a great way to build confidence and drain energy in a good way. She also likes to nibble on our bare toes, which we are gently discouraging. She loves freeze dried chicken bits and Churus.
Background: A few months ago, Wayfarer was found in a cage with 5 other cats at a warehouse storage center, without food or water in the hot sun. Luckily for them, they were rescued in time. Wayfarer is being fostered with Clowder, whom she was found with, and Jonas and Dina. Charms and Foundling, part of the 6 found together, are available for adoption in another foster home. Happily, the other 2 of 6 have been adopted.
Location/Meeting: Approved applicants may visit her in her foster home in Warren County, NJ and meet all the cats there. In addition, any cat you wish to meet can be brought to our regular adoption events in Easton or Phillipsburg. We can also meet at a mutually convenient time and place.
View the full bio/profile and photos/videos HERE:https://www.felineurbanrescueandrehab.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21967307

All FURR Cats & Kittens are seen by a vet before being posted online and have been:

Spayed / Neutered to help control the pet population
Microchipped to help ensure your best friend can be brought home if lost.
Vaccinated; FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) & Rabies (which is legally required in most states). These will need to be kept current after adoption.
Tested Negative for FIV & FELV unless otherwise noted on their profile
Treated with de-wormer, anti-parasitics, flea baths & prevention, ear mites and anything else our vet deems needed for good health. This can sometimes include antibiotics and eye/upper respiratory medicines, etc.
Many of our fosters also use pre/probiotics and vitamins to fully support their tiny immune systems during transitions.

---To meet any of our cats please fill out our adoption application to be approved.
