WASH is a very special & loving, nearly 5 year old, kitty. He is a very handsome solid black kitty with a sweet disposition and a shy, quiet chirp for a meow. He loves attention from his people, though it does take him time to warm up to new people. He loves to be picked up and perch over his foster mom's shoulder, purring all the while. Once he's had enough he'll hop down, talking all the while. He prefers to curl up with one of his foster siblings, whom he has grown up with, though they are all from different litters. He is more sociable with easy going feline companions and needs a kitty buddy in his forever home who won't overwhelm him. He loves to play and chase the laser pointer and the "cat-dancer" toy, and will leap high in the air to try to catch things. He likes to wrestle with the other cats, and although he's outgrown some of them he is still a bit of a wimp and gets overwhelmed easily and will run away from over exuberant playmates...often returning moments later to pounce on his unsuspecting pal. Wash likes to climb and will sometimes let his curiosity get the better of him, jumping and wiggling into some very narrow spaces, and also sometimes knocking things down when he tries to climb on things he shouldn't. Intelligent and sweet, something about his unique face and expressive golden eyes initially drew his foster mom to him, and it is the reason he is named for Alan Tudyk's character, Hoban "Wash" Washburn, from TV's Firefly. His litter box habits are impeccable and he uses his scratching post, never the furniture. He will sometimes carry his mylar toys around in his mouth and chase them all by himself, until he loses them underneath some piece of furniture. We live in the city of Chicago, so please keep that in mind if you'd like to meet this wonderful boy!
