WALTON's Story

NEUTERED MALE
Approximately 8 months old

Walton is a handsome, gentle tabby with oversized paws and a big heart. He is friendly, quiet, and likes to be carried around while serenading you with his purrs.
He has a wonderfully calm demeanor and is friendly with adults, kids and cats. He is a modern kitty, totally cool with robot vacuums, the vitamix and the chaos of kids but needs to be in another room for the washing machine spin cycle!

Walton's front paws have extra toes, called polydactyl, which make them look like big, fluffy mittens! He loves to curl up on a basket, a couch or your bed for long naps during the day. Like most kittens, he is busy at night, knocking down meticulously built train tracks and catching every stray fly in a noisy epic battle. Walton's hobbies include bird watching, chasing his kitten friend, more bird watching, bouncy balls and watching bird videos. His dream home has a window sill with a view of birds. He also visits the kitchen table for every meal in the hopes that a morsel will 'accidentally' fall onto the floor.

Walton is looking for someone willing to continue to build his confidence with positive reinforcement (lick treats and temptations are the key to his heart!) He often shies away when approached closely but you can bribe him with treats. When he lets you get close enough to scoop him up, he melts in your arms. Kids get a free pass and are able to walk right up anytime, as he seems to know they're gentle friends. He also is keen on the phrase "wet food!" His track record shows that he is trusting but on his own terms. He always comes when called as he knows his name very well. He does not live with dogs but should adapt well if carefully introduced.

Walton has a small polyp in the soft tissue of his palate that may need medical intervention in the future. It is not bothering him at this time and is not expected to affect his health significantly in the future, but it will require monitoring and possible surgery. He has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vet checked, and vaccinated. His medical records will accompany him upon adoption.

With his soft toasted marshmallow colours and extra toe beans, Walter is an adorable fellow with the sweet nature to match. He is being fostered in Sayward, a beautiful 35 minute drive north of Campbell River.

We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs as they bond, keep each other company when you are out, and it encourages positive cat behaviours. If you don't already have a playful young cat, Walton should be adopted with another kitten or young cat listed with CR PAWS. You may be eligible for a discount if you adopt more than one cat.

If you would like to be Walton's new family, please submit an application using this link: HTTPS://CRPAWS.ca/adoption If you are interested in more than one CRPAWS cat, include all their names on your application.

Every application is considered carefully by our small but mighty team of volunteers. We will be in touch as soon as possible, normally in 3 days or less.
