Vortex's Story

Meet Vortex !

Vortex is the orange boy of the bunch, and while he may still be figuring out this whole "humans are friends" thing, he has already figured out something much more important: toys are AMAZING.

Like his siblings, Vortex came to us pretty terrified and has perfected a convincing little tough-guy act. Churu helped us make some progress, although Vortex wasn't quite ready to delicately eat it from our hands. His solution? Try to smack the Churu out of the human's hand and eat it himself. Independent problem solver.

But the real way to Vortex's heart is play, play, and more play. Toys help him forget that he's supposed to be scared, and you can start to see the curious, silly kitten hiding underneath all that bravado.

Vortex will need a patient home that understands that every change is a big deal for him. He needs time to decompress, learn his new surroundings, and decide for himself that everything is going to be okay. One surprising thing we learned in foster care? He really enjoyed the dog!

Give this handsome orange guy some time, a pile of toys, a few Churus, and the space to build trust at his own pace, and we think there's a wonderfully playful little Vortex just waiting to emerge.

FMAR felines are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for age-appropriate shots, and negative for FIV/FeLV.
