Vito (FIV)'s Story
Get to know Vito, a 17 pound hunk of a guy with street smarts and domestic dreams. Before being rescued, we suspect this full-sized foodie was running an underground tuna operation. With chunky cheeks that like to be pinched, Vito is proof that tough guys secretly want love too!

Rescued from animal control to live the life he was destined for, this FIV+ fellow came in with a few medical needs. Fully recovered now from a mild URI, an eye infection and dental work (he is toothless and terrific), this big boy is thriving like a boss! Ready to trade the streets of Baltimore for a cushier lifestyle, Vito loves attention, being brushed, a full belly, and a comfy, warm bed.
Vito will do best in a home without dogs or small children, and is okay with cats as long as they give him some space.

If you’re interested in Vito, you should know about (FIV). Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Fortunately for your felines, Vito has no teeth to bite with! FIV kitties who do have a tooth or two can safely interact with other cats as long as they get along well and are not fighting. It’s important to have a good relationship with your vet, since Vito have a harder time fighting infections than non-FIV cats. However, cats like him can live normal, full-length lives. For more information on FIV see: https://fivcats.com/ and https://www.kittenlady.org/fiv

If you'd like to take this kitty home, please fill out an adoption application at this link - https://animalalliesrescue.org/cat-application. The adoption fee is $100 and covers all expenses needed to prepare kitties like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they've already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They've been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on age-appropriate immunizations against rabies and FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus & panleukopenia). Some of our cats have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they're ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
