Violet's Story
==> HART’S ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://form.jotform.com/232960843545058

After two eye surgeries, precious Violet is finally ready to find her furever home! This charming girl has been through so much in her short life and is ready to sweep her adopter off their feet with her endearing personality. Please sit down and take in Ms. Violet's story. It's a tale of bravery and trust.

Violet was supposed to be just another TNR kitty. She was born into a colony where, no matter how much TNR is done, there always seems to be a pregnant female or new kittens struggling to survive. Once Violet was trapped, it was clear she needed to have her right eye removed. It looked awful and was causing her significant pain. During recovery, Violet was treated just like any other TNR cat — clean and feed, but no meaningful attempts to socialize because she was too old to expect a positive result. Then, one morning, her caretaker lifted the sheet to begin her clean and feed and there she was, rolling on her back and purring like she's never purred before! Violet, completely on her own volition, decided people weren't so bad! What a brave girl to make that huge leap to trust humans! Her caretaker (later to become her foster mom) was so proud of her.

Knowing she made such an abrupt behavior change, knowing she'd have to survive with just one eye, and knowing the very dangerous conditions she'd have to face back at her colony, the decision was made to bring her in as a foster and get her adopted into the very best home. No kitty deserves to live the cruel outdoor life, especially one that just lost her eye and still decided to trust people.

That's where Violet's life took the very best turn. Violet loves living in the safety of a home with lots of safe stimuli for her curious mind. At the tender age of 1, she still loves to play with toys and ohhh, the feather wand! Boy does she love the feather wand. Violet does still hang out with the kitty pack, but seems to be just as content playing on her own. As such, Violet's foster mom thinks her ideal home could be with another kitty friend or as a solo kitty where her people will give her all the attention and play she needs.

Violet is fostered with several dogs and cats and does well with all of them. She could live with dogs that don't chase, kids who understand a cat is not a toy and adults who will be able to handle a cat under foot.

Violet is a very food-motivated girl, but does seem to have some sensitivities (to either poultry or fish) that make her itchy. As such, she was on prescription Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein, but we've discovered that she can tolerate rabbit, so she's switched to that. This will need to be continued in her adoptive home.

Born in October 2024 (estimated), Violet is spayed, microchipped, received rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested negative for FeLV/FIV/heartworm, and is litterbox trained. Medically cleared, she's ready to find her happily ever after. Violet is a special girl who is living her very best life. Wouldn't you like to give her a safe home so she can enjoy the good life forever?

Questions?
