Veronica's Story

Veronica is a five year old brown and red tabby with stunning celadon green eyes and a personality that shines just as brightly. This curious, playful girl arrived at the shelter at the start of January after her loving owner made the difficult decision to enter a nursing home. Though it was a big change for her, Veronica has handled it with grace and she's ready to begin her next chapter.

During her time in a caring foster home, Veronica focused on increasing her activity level and losing some weight. And wow, did she impress us! Veronica is VERY bright and she has a rare and remarkable talent. She learned how to use a cat exercise wheel (think kitty treadmill) and confidently hops on for her workouts. Not many cats can say that!

She's a playful spirit who adores feather wands and goes absolutely wild for a laser toy. This girl is a true laser huntress! When playtime winds down, her sweet and affectionate side takes center stage. Veronica will rub against your legs using her full body weight. She enjoys gentle scratches along her back and happily accepts her favorite special treat which is Churu.

Her foster describes her as incredibly sweet and affectionate. She's a companion who bonds closely with her person. Because Veronica prefers to be the queen of her castle, she will need a home where she is the only pet. She's been around cats and dogs before and has made it clear she would thrive best as your one and only.

The name Veronica has Latin origins and is believed to mean "true image." The name has a timeless, graceful quality and is perfect for a dignified yet playful girl who leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets.

If you're looking for a smart, active, affectionate companion who will make you laugh with her laser-chasing skills, Veronica may be your perfect match. Come meet this extraordinary girl and see if she's the true image of the best friend you've been searching for.

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
