Venom's Story

**COURTESY POST**

MEET VENOM! This dapper gentleman is not in the care of Heavenly Paws. If you would like to adopt him, please contact Matt by text at (717) 476-8895 or email at beckermatthew12@gmail.com.

This little guy has had an incredible transformation after an extremely rough start to his life and is now in search of his forever home!

Venom was trapped all the way back in March as part of a feral colony in Carlisle, and despite being very much not friendly, we couldn't bring ourselves to release him back outside due to his small size (we think he is a runt) and suspected health issues. We continued to try socializing him and were eventually able to bring him to the vet where blood tests confirmed he was severely anemic due to a blood infection that almost definitely would have been fatal if he wasn't caught. Because of being sick, he is still very small and had lost most of his fur, which revealed numerous scars and old scratches from being attacked outdoors either by predators or other cats.

Thankfully, he is responding very well to treatment! Although he will probably not get much bigger, his fur is coming back slowly and he has gone from a feral baby to a very sweet boy who loves affection, cuddles, treats, and just being around his people. He will get a second round of bloodwork done before adoption, but once he finishes his treatment, he likely shouldn't have any other special medical needs to worry about (although he should probably wear a sweater in the winter to stay warm).

Venom gets along with our four cats and is OK with well-behaved children. He has not met dogs, but smaller dogs with the right introduction might be OK. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Because of his past and small size (only about 7lbs) he will need to be indoors only.

Although he is now an extremely sweet boy and we love him very much, we are unable to keep him permanently with four cats of our own and are looking for a forever home where he will get the love and attention he deserves. If you are willing to look past his crusty exterior, Venom would be a wonderful addition to any family who decides to take a chance on him.

Please visit our website www.heavenlypawsshelter.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available cats and kittens.
