Velma's Story
Where are my FIV+ families? Velma and her siblings (who were adopted) tested positive for FIV when they were examined and vaccinated at the vet's office. There's still a chance it could come back negative when retested. Kittens can inherit FIV antibodies from their mother through the placenta or milk, causing them to test positive even if they are not infected. These antibodies typically disappear by the time the kitten is 6 months. She’s about 18 weeks old now. Velma is so sweet and loves to play and run around.. Please share in hopes she don't wait too long at the shelter! FIV+ cats can lead a long, happy, normal life, just like those that test negative. If you would like more information please contact Bethany at mashelter412@gmail.com or contact email linked with account.
