Vecna's Story

Hi! My name is Vecna. Unlike the scary monster in Stranger Things, I am a friendly and sweet cat! I am quite the talker and love pets (but not too many, as I can get over-stimulated). I am also a striking orange tabby with beautiful, golden eyes, or so I’ve been told by the volunteers who care for me.

But I am like Vecna in one way - I do have a condition that was brought upon me by no fault of my own. I am FIV +, which is similar to a human having HIV in that I have a lowered immune system. It is very common among us strays who must scrouge and fight for survival. Rest assured that cats with my condition can live long, healthy lives. Since I will now be an indoor cat, I may never even catch a cold! If I do, it might take a longer to get over it, but I will be absolutely fine. FIV can only be transferred via a bite wound to another cat (so I must be an only) – it cannot be transferred in any way to a human or any other animal species. That includes by having a fleshy vine inserted into your mouth!

I promise if you adopt me I will turn your world turn “upside down” (in a good way). So make an appointment to meet me soon. I would love to meet you!

DOB 1/3/2024

If you're interested in Vecna, we ask that you please fill out a "pre-adopt application" that can be found on our website:
https//www.parkvilleshelter.com/adoption-application. We will contact you to schedule an appointment. Thank you.
