Despite its original meaning “Van” + “Essa”(after his friend, Esther), coined by author Jonathan Swift, the name Vanessa later came to mean “butterfly.” I am a gentle tabby kitten called Vanessa who was found with my sister Valerie in a culvert back in September. We have been in a foster home since then. I am a petite kitten who is a mama’s girl, unlike my sister, who is a wild child. I love, love, love being held. When I’m not being loved up, I like playing in tunnels and with “kicker toys.” The bigger cats play too rough for me. I am trying to grow bigger and stronger!
