Valentine's Story

????Special Needs Alert????

Meet Valentine!!!!

This sweet girl came to BLAR from Houston Texas in the summer of 2020! She is roughly 5 years old now and is looking for her forever home. She was unfortunately kicked by a horse when she was a kitten and endured health issues because of it. Valentine doesn’t let anything stop her from having the time of her life, every single day. She enjoys cat trees, treats, wand toys, cat nip, lounging on the couch while bird watching, etc.

**Medical part**: Because of the trauma she had in TX, she lost the ability to urinate on her own and some of the ability to defecate on her own. She does require hand expression to urinate, several times a day. She also requires to stay on miralax, every single day and eat only a canned food diet. She is not allowed to eat dry food or dry treats. For treats there are alternatives like churu that she loves. Valentine does try to go in the litter box on her own, and she does a good portion of the time with defecating, but she cannot urinate on her own. She does well with diapers and the diapers are ONLY to catch any fecal matter, not urine.

Because of these issues, she is prone to UTIs and constipation. She’s been doing extremely well and we’d love for her to go to a home with someone who has vet med experience or someone who is willing to put in the work to learn.

Valentine loves attention, loves running around the house, loves her toys and cat trees. She is in desperate need of a home of her very own. She loves dogs but does prefer to be the only cat but we’ll take it case by case.

??She would also make an amazing clinic cat if any of my vet friends would consider??

Valentine is fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, disease negative and microchipped). She also had a tail amputation in the past and that was more for her hygiene but it’s helped tremendously.

If you are potentially interested in adopting a special needs cat, please reach out and I’m happy to talk to you in much more detail about Valentine.

Application link: https://form.jotform.com/200363380026040

Email: Boundlessloveanimalrescue@gmail.com
