Vader's Story

Hi, my name is Vader. I'm a 6-year-old black cat with the most charming crossed eyes you've ever seen. I can be a little shy when we first meet - I like to take a moment to make sure everything feels safe. But the second you start petting me? I light right up. I lean in, soak up the affection, and my eyes might even cross a little more from pure happiness. It's kind of my signature move.

I can live with other cats, but I've been bullied before, so I sometimes put up a little wall at first to protect myself. Slow introductions and patient friends will help me feel secure and let my guard down. I haven't shown much of a playful side yet, but I have a feeling it's tucked away inside me just waiting for the right environment to bring it out.

Dogs have been a bit overwhelming for me before. With my adorable crossed eyes, quick movements or chasing can feel extra intimidating, so I'd really prefer a calmer environment. I've also done great with kids here at the shelter. I just appreciate kindness and a gentle approach while I settle in. I'm neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped - ready to find a home where I can feel safe, loved, and admired for both my sweet heart and my perfectly imperfect little crossed eyes.

Animal Care Society Inc's Adoption Policy
Visit our web site at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/ Why Adopt from ACS? One of the best things about life is that it’s full of second chances! When people adopt a new family member from a shelter they are giving a pet a second chance in life! Many folks go to a breeder for a specific type of pet but those same animals can be found at the Animal Care Society! And if there isn’t such an animal at our shelter, ACS staffers are happy to refer interested parties to the RIGHT breed rescue group! The pets available at the Animal Care Society are special. Careful selection, constant socialization, diligent loving daily care and even hand raised kittens and puppies make our candidates for adoption a premium in the shelter world. While we are still a shelter, we make every effort to make a cat or dog feel at home here! It goes a long way in deferring some of the kennel fatigue experienced by shelter animals.
