Ursa's Story

Hello, my name is Ursa; I just turned one year old, and I am a wonderful kitty! I'm not scratching and climbing up everything or seeking out so much mischief as kittens do. I like people (once I get comfortable with them) and love playing with feather toys and things hidden in small places I can reach in and try to get I love that challenge! I meow hello and keep quiet. I enjoy being brushed and the close time with a person we both can enjoy. I haven't sat on laps much, but I like to be petted and that will likely come with time. I would be a great addition to a family, with several people for me to bond with or just one special person to be there always.

My foster family includes a French Bulldog (she is very calm, and we get along fine) and 2 resident male cats that we are getting acquainted with slowly but surely. When there are new people and sounds in the house I tend to hide in the quiet, but I warm up to a snuggly kitty once I get to know you. I would love to find the perfect place for me to settle in and love a lifetime with my forever family.

Born in a shed in South Omaha where the homeowner was an unsafe shelter. Neighbors took in the kittens for a few days but after learning how intensive the care was they called FKP. After some work the mother was found and reunited with her kittens in fostercare. They were kept as a family in fostercare until ready for adoption.

Date of birth 4/9/2024

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Ursa, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE, www.thefosterkittenproject.org AND COMPLETE THE ADOPTION APPLICATION today.

The adoption fee is $75 and covers age appropriate vaccines, tests, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.

The majority of our cats/kittens are in foster care and we must be respectful of the foster family's time. An approved application is required prior to setting up the meet and greet. After the meeting, if you believe you have met your new family member, you would be able to take them home the same day.

Please know that we do vet checks and property checks on all our applicants. If you have pets currently, all pets must be current on ALL MAINTENANCE VETERINARY CARE AND ALTERED. (This includes core vaccines, heartworm testing and prevention for dogs, virus testing for cats). We check deeds and call landlords to ensure the cat is allowed on your lease.

VETTING INFORMATION CAN BE PROVIDED BY YOUR VET (WE WILL CALL THEM) OR BY SUBMITTING THE PAPERWORK BUT IT MUST BE VERIFIED. If you have a pet that has been deceased within 2 years, we will also need to verify that pet was current on all medical care or as recommended by your veterinarian at the time oftheir passing.Due to limited resources for local vetting, adoptions may be delayed until after kittens are altered. Wait times may vary until age-appropriate vetting can be performed prior to adoption.

THE FOSTER KITTEN PROJECT IS A RESCUE THAT FOCUSES ON NEONATALS. Not all Kittens posted are ready for their Forever home immediately and may need further foster and veterinary care. Kittens that do go to forever homes are FULLY vaccinated, Spayed/Neutered, Microchipped, Dewormed, FIV/FELV tested, and fecaltested PRIOR to going home with you.

Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about THE FOSTER KITTEN PROJECT and our mission.
