Uno's Story
**FIV POSITIVE

Uno is a 7-year-old gray tabby with a charming cauliflower ear that adds to his character and tells the story of a life spent surviving outdoors. He came to us after living as a stray on a property where he was cared for as best as possible, familiar with dogs and loved on by young children. With winter approaching, it became clear Uno needed the safety and warmth of indoor life.

Uno is very social and affectionate and has adjusted well to being indoors. He enjoys human companionship, appreciates soft beds and consistent routines, and is continuing to decompress as he learns the comforts of home life. He coexists peacefully with other cats, including Umi, though they are not closely bonded and do not need to be adopted together. Dogs are something he can take or leave — he is generally neutral.

About FIV

This cat has tested FIV positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV affects the immune system, which means extra attention to general health is important, but many FIV-positive cats live long, happy, healthy lives and may never develop Feline AIDS.

FIV is most commonly transmitted through deep bite wounds, so it is not easily spread through casual contact such as sharing food bowls, grooming, or using the same litter box. With indoor living, routine veterinary care, and prompt attention to any illness, FIV-positive cats often thrive just like any other cat.

Our team is happy to answer questions and provide additional information to help ensure the right match.

Uno is not fragile — he simply deserves stability, routine care, and a safe indoor environment.

Uno is neutered, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested (FIV POSITIVE), dewormed, and has been brought on vaccines, flea/tick prevention.

Apply to adopt at: https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
