Tyler's Story

Tyler, for sure, confirms the common saying: orange cats are lovers! Tyler loves everyone. He enjoys the company of everyone. He gets along great with strangers, people he knows, and all the kitties in his house. Tyler is a good-natured, loving kitty waiting for a forever home where he can love and be loved the rest of his life.

Tyler is FIV positive. FIV in cats is similar to HIV (the human immunodeficiency virus) and causes a feline disease that is similar to AIDS in humans. Although FIV is similar to AIDS in humans it is a highly species-specific virus that infects only felines. While there is currently no definitive cure for FIV in felines, with proper care there is no reason a cat infected with FIV cannot live a very normal, healthy life for many years -- if managed appropriately.
