TWINKY's Story

Hi, I’m Twinky...

Here’s me, pouring out my heart in a Q&A, because sometimes words feel too small for everything I’ve carried and everything I’m still hoping for.

Q: Who are you, Twinky?

A: I’m just a little 7–8-month-old calico girl with fur like broken pieces of sunset—orange, black, white—all patched together. I’m tiny, but my personality is huge, full of sparkles and love.

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do now that you’re safe?

A: Playing until my tiny legs give out. Zoomies that make me feel alive, chasing toys like they’re the only thing that matters, tumbling and pouncing until I collapse in a happy, purring heap. It’s the first time I’ve ever felt free enough to just be a kitten.

Q: What still makes your heart race the happiest?

A: The crinkle of the treat bag. It stops me mid-zoomie every time. I come running, eyes huge and tail up, because treats mean love, safety, and someone who sees me and wants to make me happy. It’s the sound that reminds me I’m not invisible anymore.

Q: Tell us the part of your story that still hurts to remember.

A: I was born on the streets of Kuwait, sharing what little we had with my brother and sister in a big, scary colony. We tried to survive together. Then one day... everything changed. So many cats were just... gone. Vanished. When my rescuers came back to feed us, I was so hungry my tummy hurt, but the fear hurt more. I looked up from the food bowl, trembling, and I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t stay there waiting to disappear too. I left the food behind and ran to them instead. I pressed my shaking body against their legs, begging without words: Please don’t leave me. Please don’t let me vanish like the others.

When they took even one small step away, panic flooded me. I clung so hard, tiny claws in their clothes, heart pounding so loud I thought it would burst. I was terrified that if they walked away, I’d be all alone again in a world that had already taken so much. That was the moment when I knew the streets would kill me if I stayed. They weren’t just feeding me anymore... they were saving what was left of my hope.

Q: Are you okay now? Healthy? Ready?

A: Yes... finally! Spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, negative for FIV and FeLV. My body is strong, but my heart still remembers. I have some dental issues and I’m being treated for Ringworm, but no big health worries—just a kitten who needs a forever place to heal the invisible scars.

Q: How do you feel about other animals and people?

A: I love other cats with everything I have—gentle, friendly, grateful for playmates who understand what it’s like to have been scared. I haven’t met dogs or kids yet, but with grown-ups? I give all my trust. I just want to be held, to feel safe, to know I wont be abandoned again.

Q: What are you dreaming of in a home?

A: A place where the door stays closed behind me forever. Where zoomies echo through rooms that are warm and mine. Where treats come because someone loves seeing my tail go high. Where I can curl up on a lap at night and feel arms around me instead of cold concrete. I chose love when everything else fell apart. I chose to believe someone would come back for me. Now I’m waiting at The Fur Seasons, heart wide open, hoping you’ll be the one who chooses me back. Because if you do... I’ll spend every single day showing you that even a broken little street kitten can love so fiercely it mends everything.

If my story touches your heart... please come for me. I’m still that tiny girl clinging, hoping this time the hands wont let go. Let me run into your life and never look back.

Forever yours if you’ll have me,

Twinky
