Tuxedo - (Work Cat)'s Story

Tuxedo is a "guard cat", and needs a new home. He was a neighborhood cat who has needed a lot of TLC and patience, but has been mellowed a lot and now even greets us at meal time. (Ok, he prefers a single hiss before meowing in anticipation of his dinner dish, in a room he shares with three fellow resident kitties.) He is neutered now, and fully vaccinated (Rabies, FVRCP, FeLV), even had a dental checkup, and is in good health. He is FIV+, so he really should be rehomed to an indoor environment, as a "working cat" to patrol for unwanted critters or other visitors. With training and increased cat and human interaction, he has become settled into a cozy bedroom, and even lets a more bold kitty sample his dinner dish first.

He loves to eat - wet or dry - just "set it and forget it" - it will be enjoyed. He does use a litter box faithfully. We have worked up to petting him (we manage with an oven mitt before eating, and hubby can use a bare hand), but if irked or backed into a corner, he can swat things better than Jose Altuve.

So if a Ring Doorbell or guard dog isn't in your budget, Tuxedo is the cat for you. We look for an indoor guard and patrol cat position with a cozy alcove with privacy, where he can still see everything going on. And we doubt he will sit on your computer keyboard or favorite chair and leave hair. But Tuxedo deserves to live a safe and long life, with a human who will watch out for him, as he watches out for you. - To fill out our brief, no-obligation application, go to www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PALC/Cat
